I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Going back to work after a 9-day break is tough, I must say, but going back after 9 days with Morgan is even tougher. Christmas break is right around the corner, though!
We had a great weekend, after a couple of days at Chad's family and the wonderful fried turkey and the world's best dressing, we took off to Birmingham for some Black Friday Christmas shopping. Now, we're not ones to wake up at 3 am for doorbusting deals, but we don't mind getting most of our shopping out of the way early. To me, shopping late is worse than dealing with the crowds of Black Friday, and in Birmingham, the crowds are slimmer because Alabama and Auburn play the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Honestly, we got some good deals, found some great stuff, but I did not think the Black Friday deals were anything special. That being said, we were able to get 90 percent of our shopping done in a few hours Friday and Saturday.
We made it home Saturday night in time to catch our alma mater win its rivalry game for the second year in a row. Mississippi State beat Ole Miss 31-23, making my first day at work a little brighter. We are heading to a bowl game, likely the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, for New Year's. Bowl games are always fun, and we may decide to make the six hour trip to ring in the New Year.
