Picture above was yesterday morning before we were going to her first doctors appointment. She nursed and was out.Well our 2nd day has been so much better I must admit. The day started out with a trip to the doctors office that we were pretty late for but honestly it ended up being no big deal.
We went to get Morgan checked because they were worried about her weight and also for jaundice. Well we went to get her checked and for jaundice she had to have a level below 12.5. Well her level was 10 so yeah she didnt officially have jaundice just a little tint of it.
Then they checked her weight and she dropped a good bit. The nurse wasnt real worried about it said it was very normal in the first few days with them figuring out how to eat. She was down to 7 lbs 5 oz (down 5 oz in one day). I ended up nursing her in the little room and the lactation consultant wanted to see if she would eat or not. Well wouldnt you know it she nursed like a little champ and nursed for 15 minutes and it made both of us feel so much better.
After the appointment, we headed home and she has been a little nursing champ. My milk supply has came in and I guess that helps also. The lady even let me pump and I filled up 3 bottles which was a bit shocking.
She has to go back tomorrow and the way she did yesterday and this morning I feel so much better about things.
Last night she was really good she slept for 8 hrs off and on and woke up 3 times for feedings (we didnt even have to wake her up). She is sleeping beauty right now.
Conclusion
1) one night can make a huge difference
2) breastfeeding I was pretty upset about from the first night home but now its going so much better now that I stuck it out and my milk supply has came in
3) Morgan is beautiful and I could not be more in love with her. She is such a good baby!
