Are you going to breastfeed? if so - a pump! (Oh, I see formula dispenser... so maybe not?)

RE: nasal aspirator - if it's one that came in the kit with all the baby care items - it's probalby pretty junky - make sure you get one of the blue rubber ones from the hospital if you can - those ones rock!

What about a bottle of infant tylenol and ibuprofen? Nothing worse than needing it and not having it in the house. We also had a humidifier and saline drops on hand.

    Bottle brush?

Do you have a dishwasher? If so, make sure to get one of those baskets that sits in the top rack - great for washing all those itty bitty pieces - nipples, rings, pacifiers, and even now we use it for the insert valve pieces in Laura's sippy cups.

We only ever have 1 changing table sheet... we put a waterproof spill pad on top of it and then a prefold cloth diaper over that - so we only have to wash the cover after a major problem and we can just toss the spill pad and diaper in the wash.

What about a waterproof mattress pad to go under the sheets? We found it wasn't so much necessary to keep the mattress protected as that has a vinyl cover on it anyways - but it made the mattress much more comfy for baby than having the sheet directly on that vinyl cover.

Oh, and since you specificailly asked about sleepers - we have a drawer full for sizes 0-3 and again for 3-6. They're so much easier to use at home than getting them "dressed" ... and also looks much more comfy - so we used a lot of those.

I agree with Andrea on everything! Addison spent most of her time her first few months in PJs. They are comfy, warm, and easy to change. She went through about 2 pairs a day between bathroom accidents and puking. I wouldn't buy clothes too far in advanced because you have no idea what size she will be in for a particular season. For example, my niece that was born in Sept was in a 6-9 month at Christmas and Addison who was born in March was also in a 6-9 month at Christmas. You just never know.

We went through a ton of burpclothes in a day, A TON! It was unreal how many we would use.

Hopefully you will get lots of gift cards and then can pick up stuff as needed. As long as you have a place for the baby to sleep, some clothes, and a way to get her home, you have everything you *need*.

I also agree with everything Andrea said! :) I would stock up on sleepers, especially in the 0-3 size. I think we had around 12 for both kids - you can get ones that have little patterns or prints on the front, so they don't look quite so much like pj's. But they are definitely the most comfy thing for baby to be in at that age. Get quite a few onesies as well - not sure what your weather is like there, but for hot days, a onesie is often all you need (and socks to keep their toes warm).

As for diapers, we always liked to have a couple boxes of Size 1's on hand and one pack of newborn size dipes. It's the worst to have to run to the store for diapers when baby is only a few days old!

I agree with the others with regard to sleepers and onesies. Kyan lived in those for a long time. So easy for around home. I would only "dress" him up if we were going out.

We used standard cloth nappies (the old fashioned kind) as burp cloths as we don't have any other kind here and they doubled really well for putting on the changemat etc.

You can't have enough socks either. I found them so much easier than knitted booties.

For a monitor, I can highly recommend a sound & movement monitor. Not sure of the brands in the States, but we had an Angelcare monitor. Gave us so much peace of mind knowing that the movement pads were there too instead of just the sound. We don't have the video monitors here.

Andrea-yes I do plan on breastfeeding at least for the first 3 months and after that probably not. Im going to rent a pump from the hospital since I know I wont be doing it for a really long time with going back to work in August and just not being able to with my schedule.

With breastfeeding, you may want to get some breast milk freezer bags so you can have a 'stash' in the freezer (it is really helpful when you can't pump or someone else wants to feed baby). I use the Lansinoh brand and I love them. Also, get lanolin, it was a lifesaver those first few weeks of breastfeeding!
